Samsung to Provide Knox Platform for Enterprise for Free to Customers from July 1, 2021

Knox Platform - 42Gears

Samsung devices are immensely popular among businesses around the world for a reason: Samsung’s Knox Platform for Enterprises (KPE). With KPE, businesses gain access to management and security functions beyond those embedded in Android. KPE not only brings the promise of advanced protection to the table, but also allows for a more granular level of control over devices. Moreover, businesses can easily activate and manage KPE licenses from within their mobile device management or unified endpoint management platform, such as SureMDM by 42Gears.

42Gears is a Knox Validated partner, endorsed by Samsung for having implemented all the latest key features of Samsung Knox products. For a 42Gears customer, this translates to hassle-free, fast, and seamless device deployment through SureMDM. In other words, 42Gears can help businesses procure Samsung devices easily, configure them quickly, and ship secured devices that are ready to be used right out of the box.

Today, as the threat landscape becomes more complex and new attack vectors jeopardize remote work, Samsung feels the need to make the advanced-level security that KPE ensures more easily available to enterprises. In this regard, Samsung has decided to make KPE available to all users at no cost beginning on July 1, 2021 as announced here.

Samsung devices will continue to have KPE embedded during production and will also evolve continuously to add advanced features beyond those included in stock Android. These include better analytics, threat detection and remediation, and deep integration with vertical as well as horizontal solution providers from around the world.

All 42Gears customers using paid KPE licenses (both cloud-based and on-premise) will benefit from Samsung’s announcement. KPE cloud licenses will be automatically renewed, and KPE on-premise licenses will be extended upon request. This policy, however, will not impact any other solution in the Knox product portfolio. Licenses for Knox Dual Data-At-Rest (DualDAR) and Knox Universal Credential Management (UCM) will be separately available at a cost to anyone who requires them.

42Gears is proud to be associated with Samsung and looks forward to creating more secure and efficient digital workspaces together.
