HC&D Builds a Path to Success with the Help of 42Gears

Honolulu Construction & Draying Co., LLC (HC&D) has provided materials for construction projects in Hawaii for well over a century. 

In addition to ready-mix concrete, HC&D supplies rock and sand for all kinds of industrial projects.

Background and Challenges

HC&D distributed hundreds of smart devices to its drivers to boost efficiency, but this introduced a handful of new issues:

1. Employees could get distracted by games and other non-work-related apps on the devices, potentially resulting in security risks or careless errors while driving. 
2. HC&D often got calls from its drivers about device malfunctioning issues. But with their field workers stationed at far away locations, HC&D found it difficult to efficiently troubleshoot those issues.
3. IT admins would at times need to send files to each device, but sending these files to one device at a time was very inefficient.
