Allowed Applications refers to those applications which are allowed inside SureLock. These are the only applications that users of the device will have access to.Allowed Applications option under SureLock Settings displays the list of applications that are allowed to be accessed inside SureLock. Under this option, you will also find options to add, edit, remove allowed applications and organize the ones already allowed in folders.
Add App
The Add App option will list all the installed applications on the device. You can use this list to select allowed applications. To add an allowed application, follow the steps mentioned below:- Access SureLock Settings
- On Admin Settings screen, tap on Allowed Application
- On Allowed Application screen, tap on Add App to list all existing applications on the device
- Select the application(s) you wish to allow from the list and tap on Done
- Once back on Allowed Application screen, you will see the allowed application(s) listed
- Now tap on Done to return to Admin Settings
- Once you exit Admin Settings, you will see allowed applications on SureLock Home Screen
Edit Allowed Application
Once an application is allowed, it will have SureLock default features like icon image, labels etc. To customize these aspects, you have to edit the allowed application. To edit an allowed application, follow the steps mentioned below:- Access SureLock Settings
- On Admin Settings screen, tap on Allowed Application
- On Allowed Application screen, tap on the app that you want to edit
- On Application Settings, you can edit following details about the application:
- Label – name of the application
- Icon – icon image for the application
- Password – access password for the application
- Hide Icon in Home Screen – visibility of application’s icon on Home Screen
- Launch at Startup – launches the application when the device is switched ON
- Restart app on relaunch – restart the application on its relaunch
- Allow Child Windows – restricts or allows child windows of the application
- Current Path – path of folder in which the application is saved in SureLock
- App Idle Timeout – Idle Timeout for the application
- Once done making the necessary changes, tap on Done to complete
Remove Allowed Application
To remove an application from Allowed Applications, follow the steps mentioned below:- Access SureLock Settings
- On Admin Settings screen, tap on Allowed Application
- On Allowed Application screen, tap on the app that you want to delete
- On Application Settings screen, tap on Remove to delete the application
Add Folder
If there are multiple allowed applications and you want to categorize them in folders, you can use Add Folder option to create folders and assign/organize allowed applications in these folders. To arrange allowed applications in a folder, follow the steps mentioned below:- Access SureLock Settings
- On Admin Settings screen, tap on Allowed Application
- On Allowed Application screen, tap on Add Folder and give a name for the folder
- Open the folder and tap on Add App to start adding allowed applications
