Overview

SureMDM is a Mobile Device Management (MDM) tool for companies that want to remotely manage Windows Mobile devices used by their employees. SureMDM is designed according to the needs of small and medium sized businesses.

How SureMDM works

SureMDM consists of two components:

• Server (SureMDM Console) running on desktop
• Client (AirAgent) running on device

An Admin configures AirAgent on device with server IP address and Unique Device Identification value. This Unique Device Identification is also setup on the SureMDM Console on the server.

Requirements

• Windows Mobile Devices running WM 5.0 and later.
• A desktop PC running Windows XP with .NET Framework 2.0 installed.
• Wireless Connectivity (Wifi, GPRS) between devices and desktop.

Installation

• On PC: Download and run SureMDMSetup.msi.
• On Handheld: Once SureMDM is installed on the PC, go to Windows Explorer and browse to C:\Program Files\42Gears\SureMDM\client folder or where ever you have installed SureMDM. From this folder, copy AirAgentSetup.CAB to the device and install.

Initial Configuration

• On PC: Launch SureMDM Console. Click on Add Device and add a unique device identifier for the device. For e.g. email address of the user should be unique.
• On Handheld: Go to Start -> Programs on the device and launch AirAgentUI. On the next screen, enter the server IP address or name along with the unique device identifier as specified on the server.

Click on Start button on AirAgentUI to connect to the SureMDM Console running on the PC. Once connected, SureMDM Console will show the connected device status as "online" along with device IP address and port number information.
