<\/figure>\n\n\n\nLightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)<\/strong> is a client\/server based protocol used to access and manage directory information. It helps locating files and devices in a network connected to the Internet or corporate intranet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n AstroContacts<\/a><\/strong>, a centralized contact management tool from 42Gears allows IT admins to sync contacts directly from an LDAP account. It helps IT admins to import or automatically sync LDAP contacts to the AstroContacts Web Console<\/strong> and makes it easy for admin to manage these contacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n NOTE: <\/span>For LDAP contacts sync to work AstroContacts <\/strong>Web Console should be able to reach the LDAP server over the internet.<\/p>\n<\/div> To directly sync contacts from LDAP account, following two processes have to be executed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n – Setup LDAP configuration in AstroContacts Web Console<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n – Import contacts in AstroContacts Web Console<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n To setup LDAP configuration in AstroContacts<\/strong> Web Console<\/strong>, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n 1. Login into AstroContacts Web Console<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Click Account Setting<\/em>s<\/strong> > <\/strong>LDAP Contact<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n 3. Configure the LDAP settings:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2013 Host<\/strong> \u2013 IP address of the LDAP server<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2013 Port<\/strong> \u2013 Port number of the server<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2013 Base DN<\/strong> \u2013 Inner path to fetch LDAP contacts<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2013 Security Level<\/strong> \u2013 Select an option to authenticate LDAP account:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2013 Authentication<\/strong> \u2013 Configure credentials to access LDAP account<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2013 Anonymous<\/strong> \u2013 Access LDAP account without credentials<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2013 Auto Sync Enable <\/strong>\u2013 Turn-On this option to periodically copy all the existing contact modifications from LDAP server to the AstroContacts Web Console <\/strong>every 6 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2013 Auto Add LDAP Contacts<\/strong> \u2013 Once enabled, the newly added contacts will be automatically synced to the AstroContacts Web Console<\/strong> depending upon the number of licenses available for the account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n EXAMPLE: <\/span>If an enterprise has LDAP account with 1000 contacts and 100 AstroContacts licenses, then you can sync only 100 contacts from the LDAP server.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n NOTE: <\/span>This feature will work only when LDAP Attribute<\/strong> is mapped with Astro Attribute <\/strong>and has imported at least one contact.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n 4. Click Test Connection<\/em><\/strong> to confirm the authentication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 5. Click Save <\/em><\/strong>to save the LDAP configuration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n To import contacts from LDAP Account, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n 1. Navigate to AstroContacts Web Console<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Click Contacts<\/strong> <\/em>> <\/strong>Import<\/strong> <\/em>> LDAP CONTACTS<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 3. Click Yes<\/strong> <\/em>to accept for importing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 4. In LDAP Contacts<\/em> <\/strong>prompt, select an option for Unique ID<\/em> <\/strong>from the drop-down menu(This is the unique identifier<\/em><\/strong> for AstroContacts <\/em><\/strong>which will be considered while importing contacts from LDAP server).<\/p>\n\n\n\n 5. Select an option from LDAP Attribute<\/em> <\/strong>drop-down to map with Astro Attribute<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 6. Select an option from Astro Attribute<\/em> <\/strong>drop-down menu.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n NOTE: <\/span>Attributes are objects which hold values like first name, last name etc. and It is mandatory to map Astro Attribute First Name with LDAP Attribute.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n 7.
