This agent communicates with the SureMDM Server over any data network. This agent is responsible for updating device information and executing instructions sent by the server.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SureMDM Nix<\/strong> is very light weight and easy to configure on Android devices.<\/p>\n<p>Follow below mentioned steps to configure&nbsp;<strong>SureMDM Nix<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>1. Install Nix on your Android device.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Download it from<strong> Google Play<\/strong> &#8211;&nbsp;<a title=\"Download SureMDM Nix from Google Play\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.nix\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0080ff; font-size: small;\">Google Play<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Download the setup file from&nbsp;<a title=\"Download SureMDM Nix Agant\" href=\"\/products\/suremdm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0080ff; font-size: small;\">42Gears<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2. Once installed, launch SureMDM Nix on the device and tap on <strong>Get Started&nbsp;<\/strong>to start the configuration<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1426 aligncenter\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" title=\"Getting Started with SureMDM Nix\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/12.png\" alt=\"Getting Started with SureMDM Nix\" width=\"400\" height=\"251\"><\/p>\n<p>3. Enter your SureMDM Account ID and tap on <strong>Register<\/strong> button<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Note: In case you haven&#8217;t registered yet, you can create a new trial account using <strong>Sign-up now<\/strong> button or by <a href=\"\/products\/suremdm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0080ff; font-size: small;\">clicking here<\/span><\/a>. In case of SureMDM On-premise version, enter <strong>1<\/strong> as <strong>SureMDM Account ID<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1428 aligncenter\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" title=\"Enter your SureMDM Account ID\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/2_small2.png\" alt=\"SureMDM Account ID screen\" width=\"400\" height=\"250\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">4. Skip to the step<strong> 6&nbsp;<\/strong>if you are using SaaS version of SureMDM.&nbsp;If you are using an On-Premise version of SureMDM, Nix prompts you to enter the <strong>Server Address<\/strong> where <strong>SureMDM Server<\/strong> is running.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1429 aligncenter\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" title=\"Enter your SureMDM Server Path\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/6_small2.png\" alt=\"SureMDM Server Path screen\" width=\"400\" height=\"250\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>5<\/strong>. SureMDM checks if the server path is correct and is reachable. Tap on <strong>Continue<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1430 aligncenter\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" title=\"Verifies Server Accessibility\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/7_small2.png\" alt=\"Server Accessibility Screen\" width=\"400\" height=\"250\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">6. Configure the <strong>Device Name<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a style=\"text-align: center; background-color: #f3f3f3;\" href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/3_small2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1431 aligncenter\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" title=\"Configure Device Name\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/3_small2.png\" alt=\"Configure Device Name for SureMDM\" width=\"400\" height=\"250\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You can choose from the following options:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<ol>\n<ol>\n<li>Manually enter the device name<\/li>\n<li>Use device&#8217;s IMEI number(*Available only on phone devices)<\/li>\n<li>Use device&#8217;s MAC address(*Available only on WiFi enabled devices)<\/li>\n<li>Use a system-generated name<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ol>\n<\/ol>\n<p>7. Tap on <strong>Set Device Name<\/strong> to continue.<\/p>\n<p>8. <strong>SureMDM<\/strong> will prompt you to activate it as <strong>Device Administrator<\/strong>. This is important for remote management of device such as security and job policies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1433 aligncenter\" title=\"Activate SureMDM Nix as device administrator\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/4_small2.png\" alt=\"Activate SureMDM Nix as device administrator\" width=\"400\" height=\"250\"><\/p>\n<p>Once the initial setup is over, <strong>SureMDM Nix<\/strong> will connect with the server and you can start managing your mobile devices remotely.
