Get Started with SureLock for Windows 7, 8 & 10

SureLock for Windows 7 & 8 supports following versions:
  • Windows 7
  • Windows 8
  • Windows 10
 
Download Steps

Download SureLock for Windows from 42Gears website:

 
First Launch

1. Once SureLock installed, go to desktop and tap on Start Kiosk to launch

2. On Configure Windows Administrator Account prompt, select between:

  • Login using an existing account
  • Create new account and login

 

For Logging in using an existing account:

1. On Configure Windows Administrator Account prompt, select Login using an existing account

2. Enter the User Name, Password and Domain and tap on Validate

3. On Miscellaneous Settings prompt, enable/disable following:

  • Disable User Account Control Prompt - Check this option if you don't want UAC prompt
  • Autologon to Boot up -  Check this option if you don't want Windows login screen after the device reboots with SureLock 

4. Tap on Start Kiosk

5. On the next prompt, tap Yes to continue which will restart the device

6. On a successful restart and successful loading of SureLock, you will be on SureLock Home Screen

 

For Logging in by creating a new account:

1. In Enter New Username and Password section, enter a new username and a new password

2. Tap on Create User

3. On successful user creation, SureLock will prompt that a new user has been created

4. Select Disable User Account Control Prompt option if you don't want notifications

5. Tap on Start Kiosk

 

Logging in to SureLock Settings

To Login to SureLock Settings, follow below mentioned steps:

1. On SureLock Home Screen, tap anywhere 5 times with 3 seconds to launch SureLock Password prompt

2. On Password prompt, enter default password 0000 (four zeros) and tap on OK

3. On successful login, you will be on the SureLock Settings Main Menu

Allow application using SureLock Settings

Use Allowed Applications setting to allow, edit and remove allowed applications.

To add an allowed application, follow below mentioned steps:

1. Access SureLock Settings Main Menu by tapping on SureLock Screen 5 times within 3 seconds

2. On Password prompt, enter default password 0000 (four zeros) and tap on OK

3. On Main Menu, tap on Allowed Applications

4. On Allowed Applications screen, tap on Add Application button

5. On Available Applications screen, select application(s) to allow and tap on Done

Allow websites using SureLock Settings

Use Allowed Websites setting to allow, edit and remove allowed websites.

To add an allowed website, follow below mentioned steps:

1. Access SureLock Settings Main Menu by tapping on SureLock Screen 5 times within 3 seconds

2. On Password prompt, enter default password 0000 (four zeros) and tap on OK

3. On Main Menu, tap on Allowed Websites

4. On Allowed Websites screen, tap on Add URL button

5. On Website Information prompt, enter following basic details about the website to be allowed:

  • Type - http://, https://, file://
  • URL - Website address
  • Display Name - Name to be displayed for the website on the homepage
  • Icon - Favicon/Custom Image

6. Tap on Add to complete
