It opens new possibilities for businesses to market their products and services to the millennial customers, who prefer to look and feel the physical product. Simulation-based training for surgeons in VR headsets allows them to get a hands-on experience to new tools and procedures without actually risking a life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">42Gears recently added remote support, management and lockdown capabilities for <\/span><b>Oculus Go<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Quest VR<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> headsets. The UEM agent for VR from 42Gears is called <\/span><b>SureMDM Nix VR<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. These functionalities can help IT Pros to easily install 42Gears UEM Nix Agent on the VR devices, convert them into purpose-built devices, deploy useful applications through static and dynamic jobs and transfer files on the device.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<div style=\"background-color: #fff2f2; border-left: 4px solid #FF4444; padding: 24px;\">\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px; margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff4444;\">NOTE:<\/span> These steps are for <b>Oculus Android VR Devices<\/b> (<b>Oculus Go<\/b> and <b>Oculus Quest<\/b>).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<br>\n<h2 style=\"font-size:24px;\"><b>How to get started?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Get the settings file from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.42gears.com\/Oculus_NixSettings_File.zip\"><b>here<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><\/i><b>2<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 In the <\/span><b>xml<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> file, replace the following default values with your own:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Customer ID <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be the<\/span><b> Account ID. <\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(For example : Customer ID \u2013 853245)<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Server \u2013 suremdm.42gears.com<\/b> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Console URL to which the devices will be enrolled)<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>DeviceName <\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Unique name for the VR device getting enrolled. This name will be the identity of the device in SureMDM Web Console for the Admin)<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Show Nix<\/b> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; <\/span><\/i><b>True<\/b> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(To show the online status of SureMDM Nix in the SureMDM NixVR Application)<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width:40%;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.42gears.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/Oculus-Settings.png\">\n<p><b>3<\/b><b><i>. <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">xml file has to be saved in <\/span><b>SD Card<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the VR device for enrollment. The users must use below-mentioned adb command to transfer NixSettings.xml file on the device SD Card:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:Courier New;color:blue;\">adb push &lt;path of the file&gt; \/sdcard\/<\/p>\n<p><b>4<\/b><b><i>. <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once, the above mentioned steps are completed, you can install <\/span><b>SureMDM Nix VR Agent<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on <\/span><b>Oculus VR<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> devices.<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #fff2f2; border-left: 4px solid #FF4444; padding: 24px;\">\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px; margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff4444;\">NOTE:<\/span> To learn how to Install ADB on Windows, macOS, and Linux, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.xda-developers.com\/install-adb-windows-macos-linux\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">click here<\/span><\/a> and to learn how to enable ADB (Developer mode) in VR oculus device to transfer Nix agent and nix setting file <a href=\"https:\/\/developer.oculus.com\/documentation\/mobilesdk\/latest\/concepts\/mobile-device-setup-go\/\">click here<\/a><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<br>\n<h2 style=\"font-size:24px;\"><b>Install SureMDM Nix VR on Oculus VR devices<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Follow the steps below to install <\/span><b>SureMDM Nix VR Agent<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on <\/span><b>Oculus VR devices<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Download <\/span><b>SureMDM Nix VR Agent<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.42gears.com\/downloads\/\"><b>42Gears Download Page<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and install it on the device with the help of following ADB Command:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:Courier New;color:blue;\">adb install &lt;path of the APK&gt;<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"background-color: #fff2f2; border-left: 4px solid #FF4444; padding: 24px;\">\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px; margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff4444;\">NOTE:<\/span> \n<p style=\"font-size: 13px; margin-bottom: 0px;\"><b>i.<\/b> If the admin wants to grant all the Run time Permission, they can use the following adb command:<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px; margin-bottom: 0px;font-family:Courier New;color:blue;\">adb install \u2013g &lt;path of the APK&gt;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px; margin-bottom: 0px;\"><b>ii.<\/b> Storage permission is mandatory for Nix Agent to work on the VR device. This permission will allow Nix Agent to read the settings file placed in SD card.<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px; margin-bottom: 0px;\"><b>iii.<\/b> Device Owner should be enabled for <\/span><b>SureMDM Nix<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on the device. Set <\/span><b>SureMDM Nix VR<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as <\/span><b>Device Owner<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> using the following adb command:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px; margin-bottom: 0px;font-family:Courier New;color:blue;\">adb shell dpm set-device-owner com.nix.vr\/com.nix.NixDeviceAdmin<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<p><b>2<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. After successful installation, click <\/span><b>Library<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on the VR device with the help of the controller.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>3<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Click <\/span><b>Unknown Sources.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>4<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Select <\/span><b>SureMDM Nix VR<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from the drop-down option.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>5.<\/strong> When <b>SureMDM Nix VR Agent<\/b> is launched, allow all <b>Runtime Permissions<\/b>.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"background-color: #fff2f2; border-left: 4px solid #FF4444; padding: 24px;\">\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px; margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff4444;\">NOTE:<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0If runtime permissions are already granted, prompt for allowing permissions will not appear here.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<p><b>SureMDM Nix Home Screen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be displayed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After this step, <\/span><b>SureMDM Nix VR Agent<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will automatically import NixSettings.xml file from SD Card and enroll the device to SureMDM Web Console.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>6<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Once enrollment is complete, <\/span><b>SureMDM Nix<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be seen online on the right side of VR screen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, on <\/span><b>SureMDM Web Console<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, in the <\/span><b>Device Grid<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, you will see the enrolled VR device listed. The <\/span><b>Android Enterprise Status<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for this device will show as <\/span><b>Device Owner.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-size:24px;\"><b>Enable or Disable Kiosk Mode on Oculus VR devices<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Follow the steps below to <\/span><b>enable or disable kiosk mode on Oculus VR devices<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n\n<div style=\"background-color: #fff2f2; border-left: 4px solid #FF4444; padding: 24px;\">\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px; margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff4444;\">NOTE:<\/span> Setting <b>SureMDM Nix Agent<\/b> as the <b>Device Owner<\/b> is mandatory for Kiosk Mode to work. Refer to <\/span><b>step no. 3<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under<\/span><b> Install SureMDM Nix VR on Oculus VR devices<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> subtopic to learn how to set SureMDM Nix Agent as the Device Owner.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<p><b>1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Navigate to <b>SureMDM Web Console<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> Select the device, right-click and select <b>SureLock<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> Click <b>Enable Kiosk<\/b> to lock down the device into kiosk mode.<\/p>\n<p><b>4<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Click <\/span><b>Disable Kiosk<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to disable kiosk mode on the device (<\/span><b>Disable Kiosk Mode<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> option will be displayed only if kiosk is enabled already).<\/span><\/p>\n\n<div style=\"background-color: #fff2f2; border-left: 4px solid #FF4444; padding: 24px;\">\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px; margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff4444;\">NOTE:<\/span> When <b>Disable Kiosk<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> option is selected,\u00a0 the user can exit from SureMDM Nix.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also use Run Script Job in SureMDM to enable or disable Kiosk Mode on multiple devices at once.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Run Script to enable Kiosk Mode:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:Courier New;color:blue;\">!#suremdm<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:Courier New;color:blue;\">startKiosk<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Run Script to disble Kiosk Mode:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:Courier New;color:blue;\">!#suremdm<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:Courier New;color:blue;\">disableKiosk<\/p>\n<br>\n<h2 style=\"font-size:24px;\"><b>Whitelist apps on SureMDM Nix VR<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are two ways through which IT pros can whitelist applications on SureMDM Nix VR:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Static Job<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dynamic Job<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"font-size:16px;\"><b>Using Static Job:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Navigate to <\/span><b>Jobs &gt;<\/b> <b>Android VR &gt; SureLock Settings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In the <\/span><b>SureLock Settings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> prompt, enter <\/span><b>Single <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">package name or <\/span><b>Multiple <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">package names separated by commas in the source field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i>Example:<span style=\"font-family:Courier New;color:blue;\"> com.netflix.ninja.vr,com.samsung.vrvideo,com.oculus.mediagallery<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>3<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Enter a <\/span><b>Job name<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and click <\/span><b>OK <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to save the job.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>4<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Go to <\/span><b>SureMDM Home<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>5<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Select <b>Android VR<\/b> device and apply the saved <\/span><b>SureLock Settings Job<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the device.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>6<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. On successful completion of job, whitelisted applications will be visible on the SureMDM Nix VR.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"font-size:16px;\"><b>Using Dynamic Jobs:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Enter <\/span><b>Single <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">package name or <\/span><b>Multiple <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">package names separated by a comma in the field and click <\/span><b>OK<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i>Example:<span style=\"font-family:Courier New;color:blue;\"> com.netflix.ninja.vr, com.samsung.vrvideo,com.oculus.mediagallery<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-size:24px;\"><b>Transfer Files on Oculus VR devices<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are two ways through which IT pros can transfer files on SureMDM Nix VR:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using File Transfer Job\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using Remote Support<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"font-size:16px;\"><b>Using File Transfer Job:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click <b>Jobs<\/b> and select <b>Android VR.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2.<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click <b>File Transfer<\/b>.<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/p>\n<p><b>3.<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click <b>Add<\/b>.<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/p>\n<p><b>4<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Select the <b>file path<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or enter the <\/span><b>File URL <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and click <\/span><b>OK<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>5.<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enter a <b>Job Name<\/b> and click <b>OK<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>6.<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Go to <b>SureMDM Home<\/b> and apply the job to the device.<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #fff2f2; border-left: 4px solid #FF4444; padding: 24px;\">\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px; margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff4444;\">NOTE:<\/span> When Enable<b> USB debugging<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to install SureMDM Nix VR application on the devices.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 style=\"font-size:16px;\"><b>Using Remote Support:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Go to<\/span><b> SureMDM Home<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, select the <\/span><b>Android VR<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> device and click <\/span><b>Remote <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">job located at the right of the console (Dynamic Jobs section).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Remote session will be launched in a new window.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. On the <\/span><b>File Explorer <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">section, click <\/span><b>Upload <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to browse and select the desired file for transfer and click <\/span><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-size:24px;\"><b>Setting a Wallpaper on Oculus VR devices<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are two ways through which IT pros can set wallpaper on the device:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using Nix Settings File<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using File Transfer and Runscript Jobs<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"font-size:16px;\"><b>Using Nix Settings File:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Nix Settings file, add wallpaper path in the <b>Wallpaper <\/b>tag as mentioned below and save it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family:Courier New;color:blue;\">&lt;wallpaper&gt;Filepath&lt;\/wallpaper&gt;<\/p>\n<p><i>Example:<span style=\"font-family:Courier New;color:blue;\"> &lt;wallpaper&gt;a.png&lt;\/wallpaper&gt;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Install <b>SureMDM Nix VR<\/b> on the device.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SureMDM Nix VR<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be installed on the device with the wallpaper.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0or<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Push new Nix setting file to the device using File Transfer Job and reboot the device.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SureMDM Nix VR<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be launched with the wallpaper.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<div style=\"background-color: #fff2f2; border-left: 4px solid #FF4444; padding: 24px;\">\n<p style=\"font-size: 13px; margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff4444;\">NOTE:<\/span> For environment image in the VR device, the image file should be 360 degrees and hosted in <\/span><\/i><b><i>\/sdcard<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 style=\"font-size:16px;\"><b>Using File Transfer and Run Script Jobs:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>1<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
