And due to recent policy changes from Samsung, we have now migrated all our Samsung specific changes to our generic version. This means we now have just one version which is compatible with all Android device. This new version makes use of Samsung KNOX SDK to offer salient features\u00a0for\u00a0<strong>Samsung<\/strong>\u00a0devices (running\u00a0<strong>Android 4.2.2<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>and above<\/strong>) like remote control, reboot, silent installation, email configuration, etc. Going forward we will be adding new features and bug fixes to this version only.<\/p>\n<p>In case you have been using the <strong>Samsung<\/strong> <strong>Nix<\/strong> <strong>Agent<\/strong> version <strong>3.14<\/strong> or \u00a0<strong>3.17<\/strong>, download the setup, extract the files and follow below mentioned steps to migrate from <strong>Samsung Nix<\/strong> to <strong>KNOX<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Nix<\/strong> version.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/consolidated131.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6636\" title=\"consolidated1\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/consolidated131.png\" alt=\"consolidated1\" width=\"688\" height=\"279\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Note<\/strong>: If your device is not locked down with SureLock, skip the first three steps and proceed from step no.\u00a0<strong>4<\/strong>.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>1<\/strong>. Open the file <strong>migrate.settings<\/strong>\u00a0 from the provided package in notepad<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/migration_settings1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6440\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" title=\"migration_settings\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/migration_settings1.png\" alt=\"migration_settings\" width=\"530\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>2<\/strong>. Find the node with name <strong>SurelockPassword<\/strong> here and enter your SureLock password as its value.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0For example, If password is \u20180000\u2019: &lt;SureLockPassword&gt;0000&lt;\/SureLockPassword&gt;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/migration_settings_change_surelock_password11.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" title=\"migration_settings_change_surelock_password\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/migration_settings_change_surelock_password11.png\" alt=\"migration_settings_change_surelock_password\" width=\"540\" height=\"118\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>3<\/strong>. Save the changes<\/p>\n<p><strong>4<\/strong>. Open the file <strong>NixSettings.xml<\/strong> from this package in notepad to\u00a0change the\u00a0<strong>CustomerID\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>DeviceName\u00a0<\/strong>in\u00a0<strong>NixSettings.xml<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/migration_settings_nix_settings1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6444\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" title=\"migration_settings_nix_settings\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/migration_settings_nix_settings1.png\" alt=\"migration_settings_nix_settings\" width=\"530\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>5<\/strong>. Find the node with name <strong>CustomerID<\/strong> here and enter your <strong>Customer ID<\/strong> as its value.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Note<\/strong>: For <strong>SureMDM On-Premise<\/strong> version, enter <strong>1<\/strong> as the value in node with name <strong>server.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0For example, &lt;CustomerID&gt;1234567&lt;\/CustomerID&gt;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/migration_settings_nix_settings_customer_id1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6445\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" title=\"migration_settings_nix_settings_customer_id\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/migration_settings_nix_settings_customer_id1.png\" alt=\"migration_settings_nix_settings_customer_id\" width=\"560\" height=\"133\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>6<\/strong>. Save the file<\/p>\n<p><strong>7<\/strong>. Once done saving, login to your <strong>SureMDM Web Console<\/strong> and create a new <strong>Job<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/create_job31.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6452\" title=\"create_job\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/create_job31.png\" alt=\"create_job\" width=\"667\" height=\"247\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>8<\/strong>. One by one add the following files to this install job and save it (order has to be the same as in the picture)<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0SureMDM Nix5.24.apk (Knox) version 5.24,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0suremigratev3.20.apk version 3.20,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0migrate.settings file and<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0NixSettings.xml.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/migration_settings_nix_settings_install_job1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6453\" style=\"border: 1px solid black;\" title=\"migration_settings_nix_settings_install_job\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/migration_settings_nix_settings_install_job1.png\" alt=\"migration_settings_nix_settings_install_job\" width=\"385\" height=\"251\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>9<\/strong>. Create another <strong>Run Script Job<\/strong> and paste\u00a0the script below in the job<\/p>\n<p><em> \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 !#suremdm<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 launch(com.gears42.suremigrate)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/migration_settings_nix_settings_runscript_job1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6454\" title=\"migration_settings_nix_settings_runscript_job\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/migration_settings_nix_settings_runscript_job1.png\" alt=\"migration_settings_nix_settings_runscript_job\" width=\"383\" height=\"246\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>10<\/strong>. Create a <strong>Composite Job<\/strong> and add jobs created in step <strong>8<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>9<\/strong>\u00a0into it<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/migration_settings_nix_settings_composite_job1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6455\" title=\"migration_settings_nix_settings_composite_job\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/migration_settings_nix_settings_composite_job1.png\" alt=\"migration_settings_nix_settings_composite_job\" width=\"480\" height=\"347\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>11<\/strong>. Select the device from\u00a0<strong>Device List<\/strong> section and <strong>Apply<\/strong> the <strong>Composite\u00a0Job<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>12.<\/strong> On device, you have to follow following on-screen instructions to complete:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Note<\/strong>: The users would be forced to complete the migration steps as the prompts will not go off the screen unless the users perform all the below mentioned steps.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0i.<\/strong> Tap on <strong>Activate<\/strong> on <strong>Activate device administrator<\/strong> prompt<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/activate_knox_knix1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6615\" title=\"activate_knox_knix\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/activate_knox_knix1.png\" alt=\"activate_knox_knix\" width=\"350\" height=\"561\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>ii.<\/strong> Tap on <strong>Deactivate<\/strong> on <strong>Device administrator<\/strong> prompt<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/deactivate_old_nix11.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6617\" title=\"deactivate_old_nix\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/deactivate_old_nix11.png\" alt=\"deactivate_old_nix\" width=\"350\" height=\"561\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>iii.<\/strong> On <strong>Uninstall app<\/strong> prompt, tap on <strong>Uninstall\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/uninstall_nix1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6618\" title=\"uninstall_nix\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/uninstall_nix1.png\" alt=\"uninstall_nix\" width=\"350\" height=\"561\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>vi.<\/strong> <strong>SureMDM Nix<\/strong> once successfully uninstalled, you will get a prompt with <strong>License Agreement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/knox_nix_license_agreement1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6619\" title=\"knox_nix_license_agreement\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/knox_nix_license_agreement1.png\" alt=\"knox_nix_license_agreement\" width=\"350\" height=\"561\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>v.<\/strong> Go through the details and tap on <strong>Confirm<\/strong> to continue<\/p>\n<p><strong>vi.<\/strong> Once done, new <strong>KNOX<\/strong> <strong>Nix<\/strong> will relaunch on the screen.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Note<\/strong>:\u00a0<strong>SureMDM<\/strong>\u00a0will ensure a forced installation of the new <strong>KNOX Nix<\/strong> so that the users cannot pass the installation process.
