Restrict access to device settings by disabling Top Notification Bar in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and above devices<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Android devices, a Top Notification Bar<\/em> has been introduced (also known as <\/strong>Top Bar<\/em>, Action Bar<\/em> or<\/em> Status Bar)<\/em>. So now, users can use this bar to get quick access to device settings, updates and notifications.<\/p>\n

Disable Top Notification Bar<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Here is how you can disable the Top Notification Bar<\/strong> in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean<\/strong> and above devices using SureLock<\/strong> <\/strong><\/a>:<\/p>\n

1<\/strong>. Install <\/a>and launch SureLock.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2<\/strong>. Tap the SureLock Home Screen <\/strong>for 5 times within 3 seconds to launch the password prompt.<\/p>\n

3<\/strong>. On the password prompt, enter SureLock default password as 0000<\/strong> (four zeros).<\/p>\n

On successful Login, SureLock Admin<\/strong> Settings<\/strong> screen appears.<\/p>\n

4<\/strong>. On Admin Settings<\/strong> screen, tap SureLock Settings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

5<\/strong>. On SureLock Settings<\/strong> screen, tap Disable Status Bar.<\/strong><\/p>\n

6<\/strong>. Tap Done<\/strong> to complete.<\/p>\n

Top Notification Bar <\/strong>on your device will be disabled now. User cannot tap or drag it to access notifications or settings.<\/p>\n

Hide Top Notification Bar<\/strong><\/h4>\n

For Samsung, rooted devices and platform signed devices, it is possible to completely hide the Top Notification Bar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

To completely hide the Top Notification<\/strong> Bar, follow these steps:<\/p>\n

1. Make sure either Samsung KNOX is enabled<\/a> or device is rooted with SuperSU and SureLock is granted root access or correct Enterprise Agent (EA) is installed in the device. (For any help, you can reach out to our Technical Support Team here<\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n

2. Tap the SureLock Home Screen <\/strong>for 5 times within 3 seconds to launch the password prompt.<\/p>\n

3. On the password prompt, enter SureLock default password as 0000<\/strong> (four zeros).<\/p>\n

On successful login, SureLock Admin<\/strong> Settings<\/strong> screen appears.<\/p>\n

4. On Admin Settings<\/strong> screen, tap SureLock Settings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

5. On SureLock Settings<\/strong> screen, tap Hide Bottom Bar.<\/strong><\/p>\n

6. Tap Done<\/strong> to complete<\/p>\n

This completely hides the top notification bar and bottom bar making your application go full screen.<\/p>\n
