{"id":45524,"date":"2020-01-17T10:03:55","date_gmt":"2020-01-17T10:03:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.42gears.com\/?p=45524"},"modified":"2020-08-27T07:20:16","modified_gmt":"2020-08-27T07:20:16","slug":"ios-and-ipados-user-enrollment-supported-profiles-in-suremdm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.42gears.com\/de\/blog\/ios-and-ipados-user-enrollment-supported-profiles-in-suremdm\/","title":{"rendered":"iOS And iPadOS User Enrollment Supported Profiles In SureMDM"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<br>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width:100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.42gears.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/iOS-and-iPadOS-User-Enrollment-Supported-Profiles-in-SureMDM.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-45492\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">42Gears supports <strong>User Enrollment, <\/strong>the latest way to enroll iOS and iPadOS devices into an MDM solution<strong>. <\/strong>User Enrollment is an effective way to provide a secure end-user experience while securing and managing corporate data on BYOD devices.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Admins can create the following profiles and apply them on iOS and iPadOS devices that are enrolled through User Enrollment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Passcode Policy<\/li><li>Restriction Profile<\/li><li>Application Policy<\/li><li>Configuration Profile<\/li><li>Wi-Fi Configuration<\/li><li>Mail Configuration<\/li><li>VPN Configuration<\/li><li>Certificate Configuration<\/li><li>Exchange ActiveSync&nbsp;<\/li><li>File Sharing Policy<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To configure a profile and apply it on iOS and iPadOS devices that have gone through the User Enrollment process, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. <\/strong>Navigate to <strong>42Gears UEM Console<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Profiles <\/strong>&gt; <strong>iOS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. <\/strong>Turn On <strong>User Enrollment Profile<\/strong> and select a profile from the list above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. <\/strong>Enter the <strong>Profile Name <\/strong>and configure the required settings and click <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The newly created profile will be listed under the Profiles section.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. <\/strong>Go back to the <strong>Home <\/strong>tab and select the <strong>iOS <\/strong>device(s) or group(s).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5. <\/strong>Click the <strong>Apply to launch Apply Job\/Profile To Device<\/strong> prompt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6.<\/strong> In the <strong>Apply Job\/Profile To Device <\/strong>prompt, select the created profile and click <strong>Apply<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 style=\"font-size:24px;\"><strong>Apps Management<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">When iOS and iPadOS devices are enrolled through <strong>User Enrollment<\/strong>, SureMDM admins cannot view or manage apps that the user has installed. On these devices, 42Gears UEM admins can only manage enterprise apps.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To create an enterprise <strong>App Store<\/strong> and configure applications remotely on the enrolled iOS and iPadOS device, follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> Navigate to <strong>42Gears UEM Console<\/strong> &gt; <strong>App Store<\/strong> &gt; <strong>iOS <\/strong>&gt; <strong>Add New App<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> In <strong>Select Options <\/strong>prompt, select the desired option from the following list to add the application:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Upload ipa&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Manifest link<\/li><li>Web App&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"background-color: #fff2f2; border-left: 4px solid #FF4444; padding: 24px;\">\n<p style=\"font-size: 14px; margin-bottom: 0px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #ff4444;\">NOTE: <\/span>The Search from App Store option is not supported for User Enrollment.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the app is successfully added, the application will start reflecting in the App Store screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. <\/strong>Go to <strong>Profiles <\/strong>&gt; <strong>iOS <\/strong>&gt; <strong>Add <\/strong>&gt; <strong>Application Policy <\/strong>&gt; <strong>Configure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4.<\/strong> Enter a <strong>Profile Name<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5.<\/strong> In the <strong>Add App <\/strong>prompt, choose the <strong>App Name <\/strong>from the drop-down menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Repeat <strong>Step 2<\/strong> for more applications to list in the <strong>App Name<\/strong> drop-down menu.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6. <\/strong>Select <strong>Auto Install <\/strong>and click <strong>Add<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The application(s) will be listed in the <strong>Application Policy <\/strong>section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7.<\/strong> Select an application and click <strong>Config <\/strong>to set up the app&#8217;s managed configuration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8. <\/strong>In <strong>Application Configuration <\/strong>prompt, click <strong>Add <\/strong>and enter the following details:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Key<\/li><li>Type<\/li><li>Value<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>9.<\/strong> Click <strong>Add <\/strong>&gt; <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The newly created profile will be listed in the <strong>Profiles<\/strong> section.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10. <\/strong>Go back to the <strong>Home <\/strong>tab and select the <strong>iOS <\/strong>device(s) or group(s).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>11. <\/strong>Click <strong>Apply <\/strong>to launch<strong> Apply Job\/Profile To Device <\/strong>prompt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>12<\/strong>.
