Troubleshoot SureMDM Nix Offline Issue on Xiaomi MI devices

There are some cases when enrolled Xiaomi MI mobile devices go offline on SureMDM Web Console even when the device has internet connectivity. This could be because of how Xiaomi MI mobile devices behave. When an application is dismissed from the screen and pushed to the background, these devices are programmed to kill the application after a certain period of time to avoid battery drainage.

There are following two solutions to enable SureMDM Nix Agent to be active in the background on Xiaomi MI mobile devices even after it is dismissed from the screen.

  • Manage apps battery usage
  • Enable Auto start permission

 

Manage apps battery usage

To enable apps battery usage on the device, follow below-mentioned steps:

  1. Launch Settings and Tap on Additional Settings
    MI Blog - Additional Settings
  2. Tap on battery
    Mi Blog - Battery
  3. Tap on Manage apps battery usage
    Mi Blog - Manage Apps
  4. Then, tap on Off
    Mi Blog - Off

In case, you don’t want to permit all apps and allow only SureMDM Nix, follow below-mentioned steps:

  1. Launch Settings and tap on Additional Settings
  2. Next, tap on Battery option
  3. Tap on Manage apps battery usage
  4. Tap on Choose apps and select SureMDM Nix
    Mi Blog - Standard
  5. Then, tap on Custom
  6. Now Enable Stay connected option present under Background Network
  7. Then, enable Allow option present under Background Location
    Mi Blog - Allow

 

Enable Auto start permission

To enable Auto Start Permission on the device, follow below-mentioned steps:

  1. Launch Security APP
  2. Tap on Permissions option

  3. Next, tap on Autostart
    Mi Blog - Auto Start
  4. Then, tap on SureMDM Nix to give Autostart permission

After configuring above settings, Xiaomi MI mobile devices going offline issue on SureMDM Web Console will be resolved.
