Overview

SureSAM is software asset management (SAM) tool for managing and optimizing IT assets of an organization, specifically related to mobile devices.

SureSAM "discovers" installed software applications on Windows Mobile devices and reports them in easy-to-understand format. This software asset information reports can also be used as inputs for company's overall asset management system.

How SureSAM works

SureSAM consists of Windows Mobile client and Windows desktop modules.

SureSAM Client can run on the devices in Interactive Mode as well as Silent Mode.

Interactive Mode: In this mode the admin or the user is presented with a UI to configure and start the SAM operation. Once asset information is collected, it is shown on the screen along with options to save/export the asset data in a specfic format such as xml, csv or text.

Silent Mode: Silent Mode is useful if you want to run SureSAM to quitely collect asset information. This is especially important if an admin wants to take the software inventory remotely. Output of the silent SAM operation is written to an external file according to output type parameter such as xml, csv or text.

SureSAM Desktop collates asset information reports from various mobile devices and presents it in easy-to-understand format on the desktop screen. It helps in making right decisions regarding the deployment and management of mobile software licenses.
